For this virtual tasting, Rob chose 4 wines from the south of France, which showcased very different styles and not necessarily what we expect from this region. A very interesting selection, with participants preference varying between the wines, showing how varied they were.

Reserve de Gassac Blanc, Mas de Daumas, Languedoc, 2020 (Solent Cellar £10.99). The oldest wine region in the south; a blend of Marsanne and Viognier; very good value.

Collection Privee, Rolle, Cotes de Provence, 2020 (£16.99 Solent Cellar). Rolle aka Vermentino. The vote evenly split between these two whites.

Dom de Bachellery Pinot Noir Pays D’Oc, 2019 (£10.99, Solent Cellar). Established in 1548! Lovely wine but not obviously PN. Would be difficult to place in a blind tasting!

Mas Lasta Languedoc AOP 2020 (£18.99 Solent Cellar). A blend of 80% grenache and 20% syrah, from an 8.5 hectare estate. Big mouthfill wine. Again, a split vote between these two reds.
